Good Shepherd’s W/ELCA Coffee Project is excited to introduce three new caffeine-free Equal Exchange teas, Organic Ginger, Organic Green Tea with Ginger, and Organic Rooibos Chai.  The teas will be available starting on November 8 at the Country Store and into December!  The Organic Ginger tea is grown by the small-scale farmers of the Marginalized Organic Producers’ Association (MOPA) in Sri Lanka. The green tea in Organic Green Tea with Ginger comes from the Potong Tea Garden, located in northern India in the foothills of the Himalaya, and the ginger is from MOPA in Sri Lanka.

organic-tea-rooibos-chai-new The rooibos in the Organic Rooibos Chai is grown by farmers at the Wupperthal Original Rooibos Co-operative (WORC), democratically-organized small-scale farmers who have grown rooibos in South Africa for generations, and the chai spices are from the Small Organic Farmers’ Association (SOFA) in Sri Lanka.  All tea is $3.00 per box.

We’re also bringing back the Equal Exchange dark chocolate–this time in miniature! The 55% dark chocolate minis, with cocoa beans from farmer co-operatives in the Dominican Republic and Peru, sugar from co-operatives in Paraguay and vanilla from a co-operative in Madagascar, are 5 for $1.00, so you can have a sweet treat without the guilt!

There will be a silent auction of a Norma Refsal created necklace and a holiday table of dishes, silverware, glasses and centerpieces. November 1 Is All Saints Day

Sunday, November 1, is All Saint’s Day. We will light candles on the altar to honor all of the saints that have died and the saints that have been born in our congregation in the past year.  There will also be an opportunity for personal prayer, reflection and candle lighting to honor the other saints we remember on this day.

The gates in our weavings and the altar and pulpit paramemts have changed from bright red to white for this day in the life of the church.  The paraments were designed and woven by professional weaver and member Barbara Berg.
