Nurture a Hopeful Future

Special Gift Appeal –

“I really like our church.  It’s small so everyone is close, but then when there is a new person, they fit right in.” – Leah Holland  The Education and Stewardship Committees have presented members and friends of the congregation with the exciting opportunity to establish a part-time, two-year position of Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry. The goal for this Appeal is $15,000 to fund our own Kathryn Thompson’s salary for two years. One-time gifts and the Time and Talent Sheets enclosed in the letter received last week will be gathered in worship on May 20. The letter provides additional details about the project as well as a Gift Chart with suggested levels of giving.

“Having children grow up in the love and care of the Good Shepherd community is a gift.  The character qualities nurtured and naturally developed when a congregation makes a commitment to notice and celebrate youth is beautiful and significant.  Providing even more opportunities for connection will strengthen what children already know from coming to Good Shepherd: that they are loved unconditionally, that they have important talents to share, and that they can go out in the world knowing that they matter.  What a gift!” – Krista Holland
