Midweek Lenten Services

Wednesday, March 20, 5:30 p.m.

SECOND MIDWEEK LENTEN WORSHIP SERVICE – For this service, the theme is “Thirst and Prayer”; the scripture passage is Psalm 143:5-6; the poems are Mary Oliver’s “Whistling Swans” and “Praying”. Music will be led by Aaron Burmeister with offerings by guest ensemble Collegium Musicum, Luther College’s Early Music ensemble, conducted by Director Kathryn Reed.  Luther College senior, Diamond Jenkins, returns to do the reading. Congregation member Sue Blair will share her Puppet Ministry for children after the service.

Wednesday evening services continue on March 27, April 3 and 10 with the general theme “Thirst: Reflections with Scripture and Poetry”. Each service has a unique theme and includes a scripture reading, hymns, and a Mary Oliver poem. The Luther College choral ensemble Norsemen will provide selections on April 3.

THE SECOND SIMPLE SOUP SUPPER FOLLOWS THE LENTEN SERVICE @ APPROXIMATELY 6:00 p.m. – A variety of soups, including gluten-free and vegan, crackers, milk, and water will be served. Our guest ensemble, Luther’s Collegium Musicum, is invited to join us.

Simple Soup Suppers continue after the Wednesday evening services on March 27 and April 3 and 10.
