Fall Clean Up

During the fall, Good Shepherd volunteers worked to trim perennials and clean out all the landscape beds in the congregation’s green space.  This extensive space, with its many landscaped beds, requires substantial annual maintenance.  Leaves and pine needles from the large white pines bordering the front property are raked, perennials are trimmed, and mulch which has slipped into the parking lot from the landscaped berm is reapplied.  The new beds planted as part of the Reformation Grove project receive additional mulch.

The new garden tractor has arrived, a 48-inch John Deere mower.  The Facilities Committee will continue to explore options for a smaller trimming mower. The current 42-inch John Deere mower will be kept.

The committee will publish a list of volunteer jobs in our weekly newsletter and request help from the congregation on some tasks outside of our regular St. Grubby’s Day.
